Leader Training is an important way of showing Leaders in the movement that we are serious about supporting them and offering them ways to develop their skills - not only in youth work but also in administration, management and activities.
It is a requirement of The Scout Association that all adults involved in the movement undertake specific training, depending on their appointment. This ensures that all leaders keep up to date with relevant changes and developments within the movement and elsewhere.
All leaders are assigned a Training Advisor, who works in partnership with the leader to make sure that the training uundertaken is relevant to the leaders personal circumstances, and offers encouragement and advice when needed.
The Leader Training is offered in modules, with most of the modules being offered in the following formats: groupwork, one to one, workbooks and e-learning. This gives the maximum opportunities for leaders to undertake their training without it interfereing too much with their lives.

All modules are available to all leaders, however we do encourage leaders to complete the modules relevant to their role before embarking on additional modules.
