Dukes Covert Campsite

Main Activity FieldConsisting of a several acres of mixed open space and woodland, Dukes Covert is the District's own Campsite

There are 9 camping areas within the woodland with mains-fed water standpipes located conveniently around the site. Most camping areas also have a wooden shelter to provide a cooking and washing area.

The main field (pictured) is amply sized for several activities to be organised at the same time.

The on-site Climbing Wall is available for hire (subject to an authorised Instructor being available) and we also offer Archery, Team Building Activities and Enviromental Projects.

For groups requiring a central building, the 'White Building' is available. Offering an indoor activity area with limited catering facilities, the 'White Building' can be used as a day base and emergency shelter if needed.

Seperate male and female toilet and washing facilities are available.

Whilst there is no mains power on site, a generator is available for hire to provide lighting to the White Building and toilet block.

Dukes Covert Centenary Project

The 'White Building' and Climbing Wall

To provide a Campsite and facilities that meets the needs of Scouting in the 21st Century our 'Centenary Project' is to replace the current building with new facilities.

As part of the project we will also improve the access the Campsite, creating a safer junction on and off the site, provide a proper roadway to the new building and better parking facilities.
